The production set out to find landscapes in Ireland that had not been filmed before, and settled on West Cork.
A scalable crew model made this possible — full crew for the larger scenes in towns and urban locations, then stripped back to the bare essentials to go beyond the last mile into remote, untrodden terrain. It was the only way to reach these places, and it is what puts a version of wild Ireland on screen that audiences have not seen.

Over twenty years in the industry he has shot seven feature films, directed documentaries and commercials across the world, including a feature documentary on the public health work of former US President Jimmy Carter.
